01 · Investment thesis

Pets are the new family. Europe is the under-capitalized territory.

A large, secular market with staple-like resilience — and a structural gap between the value being created in Europe and the capital able to underwrite it.

A

Secular, not cyclical

The emotional bond turns pet spend into a de facto staple: in 2008 it grew +5.1% while retail fell; in 2020, +16.2%. Growth that shows up precisely when everything else contracts.

B

The fragmentation moat

Europe is split by language, regulation and channel. The winning models are built on physical networks — vets, breeders, shelters, retail — because that is what brings CAC down. Building that network is hard, and it burns capital without the right model and the right connections.

C

A vertical you have to know

Outcomes here turn on details only insiders see: which channel scales and which saturates, which partner actually delivers, which regulation opens or closes a market. Generalist funds underwrite that from the outside, and carry the extra risk. We have spent our careers inside it. European pet tech has raised $1.1B ever, vs $3.5B+ in the US.

D

Operator advantage

Doors, not decks: commercial intros that compress go-to-market, pattern recognition from inside the industry, and the M&A discipline of ~26 acquisitions. The money is a commodity; what travels with it is not.

02 · Track record

Built once, as operators. Now investable.

Our team built one of the world's leading groups in pet and livestock identification — from CHF 20M to CHF 300M, through ~26 acquisitions, 23 successful.

Thirty years spent inside this sector, at the company that invented pet identification and took it to the #1–2 position worldwide. With that group's sale completing, the leadership that built it steps away, and decades of relationships and pattern recognition become free to deploy.

Rather than disperse, that experience becomes an investment platform. Teams like this are not assembled — they are intercepted the moment they become available. That moment is now.

03 · How we invest

One filter, two deal profiles

Defined by sector and a single filter, not by stage: does this company strengthen the shared platform — and does the platform change this company's economics?

Growth minority

Profitable niche leaders

European SMEs with EUR 5–30M revenue and international upside. Our value: international distribution, channel expansion, M&A consolidation.

Our role
Active minority, board seat
Early-stage venture

Network-native startups

Startups with early traction and network-based acquisition — vets, shelters, breeders, retail. Our value: channel judgment and intros that compress BD.

Our role
Lead or co-lead, hands-on

The vehicle raises a committed base at holding level and then invests deal by deal, with our investors co-investing alongside it through a dedicated vehicle for each transaction. Individual ticket sizes and terms are set out in the investor deck.

04 · Deal structure

A holding company, not a blind pool.

Fam Capital raises capital as an investment holding: you subscribe once, for exposure to everything we do — then you hold priority on every deal and decide, deal by deal, where to invest.

01

Subscribe

Commit capital to the holding company. One subscription buys exposure to the entire Fam Capital platform and its deal flow — as with any investment, but across every deal we source.

02

Priority

Every deal is offered first to the holding's investors, with the Investment Committee's full analysis — market, channels, valuation, proposed terms. You see everything before capital moves.

03

Decide

You choose which deals to join and how much to deploy, transaction by transaction, through a dedicated vehicle per deal. No blind pool, no pressure to deploy.

Share classes, the co-investment vehicle and full terms are detailed in the investor deck.

05 · Team

Three profiles, all full-time

Track record, network and operating engine. Every investment decision is taken jointly by the three-member Investment Committee; day to day, the roles split between investor relations and internal execution.
